alot of people were asking about my disfigured figure for the past 2 years because my weight went up down up down. to the size of a fat pao, to miss anorexic, to fishball on a stick, to human to sumo wrestler and then to ... well .. now. so here we go!

Late September 2007, frantically searching for apartments around Setapak, attending interviews, i weighed

after my crazy awesome internship with MYC! and 4 months staying in KL on January 2008, i weighed

55kg

March 2008, i was required to choose a co-cu for my subject, all the language courses were full, the only one with empty slots was volleyball or basketball, volleyball it was. i had to face a fitness test as part of my coursework in May, i was forced to exercise to pass, i weighed

May 2008, after testing out several gyms in Malacca, finally settled on one. still hating the invention of threadmill, but slowly falling in love with the elliptical trainer, my stamina increased slowly but surely. i could finish the track for my fitness test 2 minutes earlier than my 1st attempt. weighing

July 2008, completing my fitness test 2nd last of my class. thank god for training, or else i'd be finishing last AND the whole class would need to stay and wait for me to complete it, which would take another extra 7 minutes. university life was over, but i started going to the gym 5 days a week because having a partner there helps motivate. (and also because we were too free and nobody was available in mlk to lepak. with no more pocket money and too much time, the only cost effective idea was gym. 7 days a week of gym sessions continuously, 1000 calories burnt at least a day, 5 litres of sweat, no wilson chicken rice/taiwan mee/mee hassan/noodles/durians/fried wantan/rice/bak kua/supper, a self given 3 day holiday during cny, March 1st, i weighed

final monthly gym session expired. i got lazy. did not see the point of going to the gym and seeing that needle pointing at 60 everyday despite working so hard. i resorted to doing nothing, eating breakfast with my parents in the morning, dinner with minimal amount of rice and veges and meat. occasionally snacking on dried cranberries and indulging on pieces of raefello chocolates and succumbing to foodmarathons and about 20 cups of coconut shakes. finally being able to eat taiwan mee on the 1st of april. going to the gym one day after 3 weeks, april 6th, i weighed

and today? eating normally (normally as in, normal aya normal. not.. your standard normal). going to the gym using my mind (mentally, not physically). but i promise i will start going back to ah jim's embrace soon, because my tummy is turning back to jelly and my jeans are getting tighter.

and i am happy and less paranoid. and finding back my determination and confidence. and a new found love in wearing black.because black is cool. black is emo. black is stylo.

After much calculation for my planned august trip
i need to hit 35k FYP by June 29th.
never really set a clear target since i started,
but yesterday's recognition night boosted much confidence
and today's seminar set everything in motion

If i hit it, i'll get to go on with that trip.
If i fail, *sigh* i have to say yes to every single invitation to club by my colleagues and friends. thats mental AND PHYSICAL torture for me if you haven't been reading this site long enough.
and also 5 months of not buying shoes or doing my hair (which includes everything from cutting, dyeing, trimming, washing) dats my kind of punishment besides going on a food ban or.. shopping for little little things.

but what entertained me was, the other punishments my colleagues set for themselves.

-Not going online (which my boss couldn't understand, like every other person from generation-dinosaur)
-Meeting 10 clients a day (because we're really lazy like that)
-Slashing her new bought LV (wtf right. zomg)
-Giving his full paycheque to charity
-change sportrims instead of changing car. (T-T i cannot understand this pain.)
-no sex with the gf (who is also a colleague) for 3 months. =x
-extending working hours to 16 hours a day. (again, because time is too flexible for us, we tend to work 8 hours, a week.)
-giving that hard earned trip to japan ticket to his manager

and etc. finally, a little more action in my life. :P

i realize whenever i want to start a decent or serious topic, i start with "sometimes, i wonder"
is it because i've ran out of adjectives to use? or is it just that my brain is accustomed to begin this way.

being this one person in little melaka, has brought boredom to the next level.
i'm not even bored with being boring anymore.
i grew used to it. i don't find the need to tell myself life is boring anymore.
i tend to rephrase it to "it's just that nothing is happening, doesn't mean its boring."

this thought is truly disturbing though. do i want this? i don't mind it. but does it mean i have to get used to it?
i have little adrenaline rushes with what i am learning with my job now.

i don't look at photos from a person's travel.
i feel obliged to do so, but showing 0 signs of interest.
all i want to do
is to see it for myself
experienced it through my eyes
they may take beautiful pictures
but i always find it very hard to relate things through their eyes.
i do admit i'm too stubborn and my actions have made me regret

i regret taking williamsburg for granted
not taking enough photos of that street i always walked on, forgetting the fact that one day i will leave that place for good
regretted not going to the famous places which was a stone's throw away, and spent shopping at walmart

but that twinge of guilt is all forgotten when i close my eyes
and see the images of all those places forming in my mind
the smell of freshly cut grass and that icy cold wind blowing on my face
and my aching toes screaming for help after long walks
and the feeling of me panting and trying to catch my breath but not sweating due to the weather

photos are proof that we were there
but often, we get too depended on this images that might last for years
and forget to truly capture this images, with our senses.

i can smell a mixture of chicken tomatoes rosemary and butter wafting through the kitchen window of my little white house down Longhill Road
and hear the sounds of people playing rollerskate-hockey across the street
and sounds of annoying columbian music playing from our bedroom
things that, a camera can never capture.

the fear of forgetting this things existing years to come submerges
but shrugged off because there are more things to worry today.

Paulo Coelho's my all time favorite author. :] am reading Brida now. loves Eleven Minutes best even though i've only read it one and a half time (darren knows why.) just a book you'd wanna spend your rainy afternoons with a highlighter. yes. a highlighter. because theres beautiful sentences in every page. and thats as far as i get when attempting to being a hopeless romantic. -_- i noe la. me , mr. romantic, we no gets along very well.

anyway, if you don't already know, Paulo Coelho is the dude who wrote the super famous 'The Alchemist". and apparently, people actually share my sentiments, but innovated it. MNG took those sentences i highlighted, and printed it on a tshirts.

Each shirt comes in a unique packaging that has the the stamp of Paulo Coelho's word on it.

i always chose what was best for myself, something i'd know i'll always strive and excel in

this plunge, is like asking a painter to make the perfect milo, or an artist to saw wood in to perfect circles, or a cobbler to give you a medical checkup

i feel like im swimming in the ocean, frantically looking for shore, sometimes on the verge of giving up

but then again, im not ready to throw in the towels just yet.

challenges may come in form of an impossible client with huge dreams yet a stingy budget, working 7 days a week sucking out all my creative juices, or in the form of where i am now. i have nothing lose, and too much to gain. :)

take it all in. i don't want my body to be accustom with all those relaxation since i came back

i can't elaborate much on what im doing for now. because, im not precisely sure yet. training started yesterday. alot to learn. not sure when will i be capable to go out on my own because my mentor is too busy to be my mentor wtf. for now, im doing financing.

yeah, me, who failed BFN (finance management) class, and had to retake it for supplementary paper getting a mere C is doing finance now. but i swear this is way easier than what they require us to study. and... it's different too. no complicated formulas. and more of, real life examples and detailed explanations.

but i am promised to get a nice paycheque that will be able to help with my grandpa's upcoming medical fees by abit. :] i wasn't asked to bear the costs, but, its more of a I WANT TO CHIP IN. for both of my grandparents! and also the flexibility of time this job will give.

my mum was like "YOU ARE DELAYING YOUR EXAM DATE BECAUSE OF A HOLIDAY??? i swear if you're not my daughter i'd say you're crazy!! "

As most of you already know, i have been spending my time doing nothing at home (not even cleaning!). occasionally reading a book, constantly on the internet, ah jim is my religion, and lately picking up the habit of perfecting my mascara application skills and rejoicing with an old flame, Cik psp.

Does that make my life useless? maybe. because i did not start work 2 days after graduation like most of my friends did. but i guess nobody would really understand that the part of me going to the usa, was to work and travel. i only posted about traveling here. not the working part. 16 hours a day. 5 days a week. sometimes 6.. or 7 days. work time passed faster because of very fun colleagues but tiring nonetheless. like kylietasya said, nobody would really understand because none of them went through what we did back there. it was a real job. not 5 months of happy happy joy joy. just like you working 5 days a week here and appreciating your weekends, and after saving enough money, holiday!! so is that an excuse for lazing around after my return? of course not. i have been very selective towards my job offers. i understand it's just a first job, any job that comes along i should just grab it and get ahead with it. and i do realize the current economic downfall, but not that i'm bragging, but so far, my job hunting has been really successful, resulting in me being spoilt for choices. Passion, dream, reality. sadly, all of them can never go together. nothing's ever that perfect. a choice which i am required to commit sufficient time to achieve. but never being able to juggle even 2 at once.

once upon an organizational behavior class, we were required to discuss about job satisfaction. the pay? the employee benefits? the challenge? pay always comes first. because most succumb to being slaves to those pieces of paper. have you realised? they're really only paper. nothing ever seems enough. but then again, reality's no joke. beegees were wrong. no, love wont keep us alive. what makes you think i don't want to apply to be a management trainee in an mnc? or work 9am to 2am with minimal pay and the only thing pushing me forward is pure adrenaline and passion? i.. actually do like doing that. despite the possibility that my puny pay will be used solely to buy pots of creme de la mers or else i'll age faster than my grandparents.

oh have i told you despite what i predicted, or even best friends predicted, i.. actually kinda like staying home now. not because of the peace and quiet. but really because of those little arguements, discussions and random meetups with my extended family that really got me to realize that really, family does come first. it took me almost 23 years to see it. but i guess its not too late. i do still retaliate every now and then. but i do know wherever i might be going in the future, i know where i want to end up at the end of the day. despite the fucking hot weather and all.

well, that was random. as random as all those dreams i have been having for the past 3 days. every night's an adventure for me now. its good to know that my imagination is still running wild like how it was when i was 12. crazy storybooklike dreams. MMm

i have been wanting to mention it since it started months ago, and then a few weeks ago, and then a few days ago, and then a few hours before it actually happened, and now, as usual, being me, im doing it now. :P

but i'll basically give you a brief idea what i think about this whole fiasco.

there were articles and people questioning the point of switching off the light for a mere hour, the difference it would make for global warming. im no scientist nor environmentalist i failed physics, did not take biology, slightly above average on Chemistry. switching off the light may not help much, but that little joint effort, is better than nothing. the critics might say "well if they really wanted to fight global warming, they should do it everyday, not an hour a year" well, on my defense, even if it only helped 0.0001% of the crappy environment we are in today, its really better than nothing. i do understand its just switching off the lights, not cutting off the electricity completely, it might not help, but it still shows that people do care. even though its a publicity stunt by WWF, at least its effective in bringing people together right?

i thought the event would be only amongst the younger generation and the.. forgive me for saying this, the more modern generation. suprisingly my grandparents knew about it. my uncles and aunts knew about it and were reminding us to switch off the lights tonight. a smile. i like marketing ideas that are cost effective. its like a successful product, you don't pay people to let others know about it, yet by the word of mouth, it spreads like wild fire. radios and tv stations publicize it at possible no cost, because they wanna tunjuk lagak by setting a good public image.

i like to focus on having malaysia as a tourist attraction. its a win win situation. we get free publicity, ~~and we give ppl fake impressions that malaysians are united~~ they get to boast their event is an international success, nobody loses anything. (or correct me if im wrong on this)

and im actually proud of it.

sometimes no matter how good a friend can be, may it be a joke or it was said just to break the ice, words will still hurt none the less. which at times like that, i just ignore your existence no matter how close we used to be (or still are). the only person who's only allowed to do that is my stripbitch. because some mean people just exist like dat on the very first day, and people like these needs friends too.

sometimes the friends that last, are the ones you don't see too often.

we made an attempt to meet up every other Sunday night.

These are the people I only knew from my Form 3 (Secondary 3) last-minute-sudden-school-switching period. for a mere 9 months. cute (and loaded!) seniors and classes till 330pm. and the more common usage of English among everybody made me more comfortable to that new surrounding. and i guess my interest in foreign students and culture sparked from bubbly indon students that soon became my good friends.

i'm still constantly amazed by how life can twist. these people always exist. best friends that became hi-bye friends during uni, friends who cease to exist for 5 years, and suddenly we are talking and just catching up on that 8 years lost. insecurities of friendship that might fade with time are given new hope and now, i am reminded that little wonders do happen.

this middle guy, i've known him since 10.
the whole class used to pass around his math exam paper during the exam because he could finish it in mere 5 minutes than the given time of 90 mins. that was our little unspoken secret why our class was top of the school. HAHA. (nola all of us memang very smart (at that time) but we were just lazy.)

i've finally decided with my next path in life. it involves reality.

i'm also working hard for April 1st. demi wilson chicken rice, taiwan mee, and jagung bakar.

i know i'll regret my decision somewhere along the road but i've come to a conclusion where family comes first.

taking the road taken.

its funny how you were educated your whole life, that you should try the road not taken, and also embracing bitterness to get to the sugar-center. to sacrifice and to bleed to reach that fruitful ending. and suddenly, one night you find out, that's not just the only way to go.

this risk, to go with this choice, it may be the easier way, and it's me putting down my bets to challenge Confucius (assuming he was the one who came up with the '先苦后甜' terminology) and Robert Frost(the fella who wrote the road not taken).

but maybe in a way, there IS a different kind of challenge from this path. just not the style every other person is using today.

sometimes i wish i really were my money-oriented. decisions would be much easier then. sadly, earning thousands do not attract me. my basic instincts aim for the adrenaline rush.

slept for 3 hours in the car waiting for this fella to arrive from New York because i was too tired (and lazy) to drive back to Atlantic City and come back later.

almost bought a lomocam, pretty trenchcoats that i couldnt possibly wear in Malaysia, kitschy ballet flats, fringe boots, paintings of rainbows and bluebirds and dresses dat were too tiny for me, then.

Autumn's here and Winter's coming i need the fats to protect me from the cold.
if i don't eat this food, i might not eat it ever again.

i exercised for 5 months (5 days a week) to lose my double chin, so exercising here once a week will not help at all.

after converting it to RM, this food is too bloody expensive to waste.

tiny indulgences of awesome food leaves me craving for moreeeeeee moreee and moreeee
the animal in me is losing patience
mentally im getting weaker by the day at the sight of the fucking weighing machine (see, emo.)
like work so hard yet no results.

but i do understand it has only been 2 weeks, but the effort and time spent feels like forever.

i feel the need to reward myself even more.
like. from 1 bowl of taiwan mee, to 1 bowl of taiwan mee + 1 bowl of beef sup mee + 1 extra slice of pai kut. -_-
most of the time i curl up in my room wasting time on littlebigplanet to avoid contact with food

its like a smoker trying to quit ciggies

some habits ive picked up from the states and still sticking to it so far:

i have lip balm in every bag, every jeans pocket, in my car, on my computer table, its like another addiction. then again, i did buy like 10 lip balms back because i damn suker burt's beeswax lip balm and strawberry chapstick!
i tend to slow down/stop for pedestrians to cross the street.
i crave for 1% pasteurized milk :(
i crave for 2% pasteurized chocolate milk
still searching for Stauffer's animal crackers :( (i like the original and the pink iced ones!)
i kept a bag of chocolate pretzels for myself to reward myself in April. :))))))))
still searching for sunchips (french onion flavored) who thought multigrain chips could actually taste sooooooooo good!
btw. the "made with lurve twisties multigrain chips" dats freaking expensive (RM2.80 for a small puny bag) taste like fried pork skin. damn kao tak sedap. dont even bother to try. so disappointing.
i know its all about food.

the beauty of facebook. tetiba kena tag on photos you never knew existed.

CNY so far,
consist of multiple gluttoning sessions. :( i blame noob. he damn bad influence. damn rosak programme.

one eye of my fake eyelashes is almost botak cuz my tangan gatal damn like to kopek defler.
(its the semi permanent glued-kind) damn sakit but damn stim. i think my real eyelashes also gone d. bald eye wtf.

im still the gambling noob but this year, =D got win.

the long weekend started awesome with meeting almost everyone i wanted to meet in one night.
old town and libra. the whole mlk was there. (or maybe not)
cny will never be the same again
the twin goes back on the 3rd day due to work
next year this time, i'd be in the bandwagon too, somewhere.

i miss my fatas and curvas. at this moment they are having grilled meat, mash potatoes, salads and speaking spanish romanian and english with traditional romanian music to be played after dinner. life was more simple back then.life could actually be much simpler here. if i do decide what i really want to do with my life. for now, im dedicated to nibble on pineapple tarts, peel mandarin oranges, peanut cookies, kuaci overload, and collecting enough angpaos for another holiday (MJ, dont stress plz.) financially, im still capable due to savings and also awaiting another cheque from the states :] that would last me another few months. but then again, despite lasting a few months, i doubt my parents would let me go that easily, bumming around for a few more months. 2 weeks back and the pressure is already on. *yawn* chill laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! cny maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!

2008 has been an interesting year. every year we learn something new. problems come in so many different forms, and every year, i'm forced to face something complicated with human relationships ever since i turned 20. but every bump i face, i've learnt that god is fair. everyone will learn those lessons one way or another. and i have been able to handle problems better this year around. i realize the change in myself. i still believe in karma.
i was lost but i was sent angels to guide me.
i was alone but i was sent friends to stand by me.
coming here made me understand that best friends will always be best friends regardless of this distance between us because they invented the Internet. they said long distance relationship doesn't work out. i said that too. but now, i believe. :)
